Billing Specialist
A real seat on Evans's team — hired through Pulpo.
What this job is.
Keep customer invoices and carrier payments accurate and on schedule.
At Trilled Soluciones, we connect exceptional talent in Mexico with high-growth companies in the United States. We've helped hundreds of professionals build meaningful careers while supporting products that power real businesses.
We're looking for a Billing Specialist who loves getting the numbers right. You'll work under the direction of the Billing Manager in a structured, process-driven team, digging into discrepancies and making sure every invoice and carrier payment is accurate and on time.
The Billing team counts on this seat to keep customer invoicing and carrier payments clean. You'll own billing accuracy from carrier invoice to customer report, working every day with the Billing Manager, your teammates, and freight carriers.
If you're detail-obsessed, comfortable digging into discrepancies, and energized by clean, accurate billing, this role is for you.
Who you'll work with.
Evans Transportation Services is a Waukesha, Wisconsin-based third-party logistics (3PL) provider with over 40 years of experience delivering end-to-end transportation management solutions across North America. As one of the country's first 100 licensed freight brokers, Evans has grown into a sophisticated, technology-driven 3PL offering Full Truckload, L TL, Parcel Optimization, Project Logistics, and cross-border Mexico services.
Evans is known for quick response times, carrier invoice auditing, and a highly configurable TMS that gives shippers real transparency across their supply chain. The Managed Operations team relies on its Visibility Manager to keep the team executing consistently, customers informed, and exceptions handled before they become problems.
Responsibilities.
- Audit and review carrier invoices for accuracy.
- Update the TMS with customer billing information so invoices go out accurately and on time.
- Contact freight carriers to collect missing information and resolve billing problems.
- Troubleshoot billing discrepancies and follow each one through to resolution.
- Prepare accessorial submissions with precise documentation, since errors directly affect revenue.
- Prepare customer reports.
- Create and own key performance metrics for your billing work.
- Help roll out new initiatives that improve the accuracy and timeliness of customer invoicing and carrier payments.
- Escalate issues to the Billing Manager when they need further attention.
What we're looking for.
- Advanced written and spoken English (B2/C1+), which you'll use every day with carriers and the team.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
- Sharp attention to detail, because accuracy in invoicing, reporting, and accessorial documentation is critical.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of following discrepancies through to resolution.
- Ability to work on your own and to know when to escalate issues to the Billing Manager.
Extra credit.
- Experience with MercuryGate or other TMS platforms.
- Background working with U.S.-based carriers, brokers, or 3PLs.
- Experience generating reports and tracking KPIs.
The person who does well here.
You're calm, organized, and detail-oriented, and you don't let a discrepancy slip. You're proactive and chase down missing information before it turns into a delay. You communicate clearly by phone, email, and chat. You do well on a structured, process-driven team and can manage your own work without close supervision. Most importantly, you're looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with a company that values your expertise, respects your contributions, and gives you room to grow.
